All PrintScreen captures are printed by using the PrintKey program, which allows you to print your name and copy # in the footer (see instructions below). If you are unable to perform some of the steps in the book, just READ* through it if a PrintScreen is not required
*(you will be tested on all  material in the book).

Print Screen Instructions

Method 1
(with PrintKey program on campus computers)

The PrintKey program is available on the machines here at SCC (or you can copy the program from G:\Datalib\CGS1060\PrintKey for home use):

When a Print Screen copy is requested, press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. This will bring up a PrintKey menu where some entries must be made before you actually print the first time of a session. (If PrintKey doesn't come up when the Print Screen key is pressed, you need to activate it first by double clicking the PrintKey icon on the desktop). Next, you'll need to put your name on the document before printing. In the right portion of the window click the Printer Options tab and put a check in the box next to Footer Text. Then, click Options in the menu at the top of the window and select Define Footer Text.  Enter your name and copy # or page number and then click OK.  Your name will appear as a footer on each printout.  Now, you are ready to click Print!  Make sure you close the PrintKey screen once printing is complete.

PrintKey is "freeware" and you may obtain a copy by clicking Help, About from the PrintKey menu and noting the URL that you will find there. You can then download your own copy from Mr. Bolliger's Home Page on the Internet. Make sure that you save it to your floppy disk! You can also copy this program from our network (G:\Datalib\CGS1060\PrintKey….)

Method 2
(with Paint Program on any computer)

  1. Hit the Print Screen Key.

  2. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, and Paint.

  3. From the Edit menu, select Paste.

  4. If you see the message, "The image on the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you like the bitmap enlarged?" Select YES.

  5. On the left side of Paint program, click on the Icon with the black capital letter A.

  6. Move the mouse cross hairs to the desired location over your picture.

  7. Click and drag across and down to open up a text box.

  8. Click in the open text box to type in your name.

  9. From the File menu, select Print.
