You will need a MySCC account to participate in
the MSDNAA. You will already have an account if you registered online.
Follow the instructions below if you don't have a MySCC account.
- Go to www.scc-fl.edu and click the MySCC
icon.
- Click the "Create a New Student Account"
link.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Shortly after the deadline to drop classes
(usually the end of the first week of classes) you will receive a MSDNAA
Welcome Letter email to your SCC email account. You can check your SCC email
account at http://mymail.scc-fl.edu
. Your log in name/password will be the same as those you use to login to
your MySCC account. Your MSDNAA email will contain the following
information:
- Instructions on how to access MSDNAA
- Your MSNDAA username. All usernames follow
this pattern: [SCC UserID]
@mymail.scc-fl.edu
- Your password which will be randomly
generated
- A URL for the MSDNAA web site
- Once you have your username and password,
you can access the MSDNAA web site and download free software!
Download Instructions
- Click on the link in your MSDNAA Welcome Letter

http://msdn06.e-academy.com/scc-fl_net
- Click on the "Log In" button to login to the
Academic Alliance

- After logging on, you will need to select the
software you wish to download, you may click on the "down arrow" of the
"Search by product titles" drop-down text box to view all of the software
available. Once you click on an item, click on the "Go" button to take
you to that title. Alternatively, you may select the picture "boxshots"
of the software shown under the gray search box.

- The next screen will confirm the title you wish to
download.
If this is the title you wish to download, Make sure you
click on the
button!
If this is NOT the title you
wish, click on the
button.

- After you select the button, you will
be presented with the:

Please select the
button.
- Next you will be presented with the contents of
your "Shopping Cart"

If the
title listed is the only title you wish to download at this time,
select the
button.
If you would like to select
other titles to download, please select the
button.
- After selecting the
button,

Please
enter your LAST name, FIRST name, and EMAIL address on the "Customer
Information Form." then click on the "Next" button.
You may leave the
MSDN Student Flash checkbox "checked" or you may "uncheck" the
checkbox.
- Next, you will be presented with your "Order
Details:"

- Click on the software title-- e.g.- Access 2007

- Click on the
button.
- You may receive a Security Warning similar to the
following:

If this
occurs, please click on the
button.
- The Save As dialog box will
now open....

Select to save this file on your DESKTOP
-->
This way you will be able to find it!
--> DO NOT
CHANGE THE NAME OF THIS FILE!!!!
--> Select the
button.
NOTE:
This file is a "DOWNLOADER"..... it is not the full
download of the TITLE you selected!
The purpose of this DOWNLOADER is to
Download, Uncompress, and Decode the the TITLE you selected!
- The "DOWNLOADER" should now appear on your
desktop.
The DOWNLOADER will have an icon of a yellow lightning
flash surrounded by a purple circle....
The icon should look similar to
this:

If the icon looks like the following:

Then the
name may have been changed in step 14.
To fix this, just add the
extension ".EXE" to the end of the
filename.
--> The icon should then appear properly as above
(purple/yellow icon).
- Double-click on the Purple/yellow
icon.

- Click on "RUN".... The following screen
should appear.
NOTE: Do not change the
folder name! Leave it as: C:\Temp

- Step 2 looks like the
following:
Please be patient.... The download process can take a while
depending on your internet connection.

- Step 3 will proceed, and
finally step 4 will look like this:

- If you click on:

Then the application setup utility will attempt to install the
software onto your machine.
NOTE1: This only works if the
downloaded file(s) is/are not in ISO format. You may now copy the downloaded file(s) to a
CD-R for backup if the files(s) is/are
not ISO format.
NOTE2: If the download
IS an ISO image,
the folder that contains that image will open.
No install will happen.
You must
burn an ISO image
to a CD-R if the file(s) is/are in ISO format. The installation will only
occur from this CD-R.
