Word Project 3
1. In the chapter assignment for Word Project 3 you will create a resume and cover letter. The end result of the project is displayed in Figure 3-1 and 3-2. Do not begin working on this finished paper. Instead work through the steps in the chapter. There are important skills you will develop in the chapter that will be required when you do the exercises at the end of the chapter.
2. Many of the projects in the Word book require the use of “student files”. These are pictures or incomplete documents provided to you. You will have downloaded these student files for project 1. You do not need to download them again. Use the Chapter 3 folder under the Word folder to find the appropriate files.
3. You will need a removable storage device for the Word projects. It is unlikely you will complete an entire project in one class. This means you will need to save your work so you can resume later.
4. In the chapter assignment you are instructed to save the letterhead page using the name Canaan Letterhead. This occurs on page WD 164. Use that name for your file if you don’t reach page WD 164 before the end of class. You won’t print and turn this document in. You will use it for the resume cover letter.
5. Use your name in place of the student’s name (Lana Halima Canaan) for the cover letter and the resume from the chapter.
6. WD 185 step1 has you print the resume immediately following its creation. You won’t submit this document.
7. WD 203 - 204 is Addressing and Printing Envelopes and Mailing Labels. Read this section but don’t do it on campus. You can’t print envelopes on campus.
8. You will submit two documents from the chapter project – a cover letter and a resume.
9. You will have 6 other documents in addition to the project from the chapter. Place your name in the appropriate location in the document for the projects at the end of the chapter. The appropriate location is provided below. Assignments submitted without typed names will not be graded.
