Changes/Updates for Windows Project #1

1. Read through page Win 1.11. There are no "hands-on" activities in this section of the project (chapter).
2. The hands-on activities begin on page Win 1.12 with steps to log on to the computer. The log on screens at SCC will not look like figures 1-6 and 1-7 in the text book.
3. The items listed in figures 1-10 through 1-13 will not match exactly to what you see on your SCC PC.
4. The first screen you must print is on Page Win 1.16, after Step 4, similar to figure 1-12. Remember to add the copy number and your name to the screen print. These must be typed not hand written on each screen you print.
5. Page Win 1.33 demonstrates scrolling using scroll arrows. Resize your window to make it "shorter" if you don't see a scroll bar in your window. The scroll bar will appear when all the existing content can no longer be displayed because the window is too short.
6. Instructions to log off and shut off the computer begin on page Win 1.61. The screens on the SCC computers will not look like those in the text book for this section. Instead you will click the Start button and select either "Log Off..." or "Shutdown..."
