Take the Photo

Take the photo you wish to enter into the contest. Follow these rules.

1. You cannot apply any special affects to your photo except cropping.
2. Your photo should be no smaller than 800 x 600 pixels and no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels.
3. The photo must be taken during the four weeks prior to the assignment due date.
4. The photo must include a recognizable landmark from a SCC campus to show it was taken at SCC.
5. You must be the one to take the photo. A digital camera contains identifying information in its binary code. This information will be verified to insure it is your photo.
6. The photo cannot be lewd or offensive. Do not submit a photo if you would not want your mother to see it. Contact your instructor if you have any doubts about the appropriateness of your photo.

You will need to download the photo from the camera to a device that connects to the Internet. This will normally be a PC. Digital camera usually come with a cable for this purpose. One end of the cable attaches to the camera. The other end of the cable attaches to the PC usually via a Firewire or USB port. Once connect, set the camera to PC mode. Open My Computer on the PC and double click the drive that represents your camera. Locate the picture you want to upload and drap it from the camera drive to another location on your PC. This other PC location can be any drive (hard drive or another removable drive) - just remember where you put it so you can retrieve it when you upload it to Flickr.
