Discovering Computers "Learn it Online" Assignments
- You will be responsible for 10 assignments (5 points each) from your Discovering Computers (DC) textbook for a total of 50 points.
- You may pick any ten approved exercises (with at least one per chapter) from the "Learn it Online" section at the end of chapters 1 - 8 in your Discovering Computers book. You have a variety of exercises from which to choose including many that are games.
- The DC assignments are accessed via a web browser like Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Mozilla's Firefox. These exercises can be done anywhere in the world as long as you have an Internet connection.
- The publisher of your textbook provide a web site for the exercises as well as a grade book tracking your progress. This web site is called CoursePort. You must create an account to be able to use the site. You will create this account in class.
- There are usually thirteen Learn It Online exercises at the end of each chapter in the Discovering Computers book. You can do any of the exercises you wish but only approved exercises can be submitted for credit.
- The assignments for chapters 1 through 4 must be submitted the day of the Discovering Computers exam
for chapters 1 - 4. (See your schedule for the exact date). The assignments
for chapters 5 through 8 plus the 2 other exercises must be submitted the day of the Discovering Computers
exam for chapters 5 - 8. (See your schedule for the exact date).
- Print your Discovering Computers grade book report and submit this to your instructor to get credit for the appropriate exercises.

These assignments will only be graded if submitted on the due date by the end of
your class period. Exceptions are granted for emergencies beyond the student’s
control.
